What are my dollars paying for in therapy?
That is a great question!

The dollars invested in therapy are purchasing a lot more than you may think. The first and most obvious is the time spent with the therapist.

Other things to consider that are often overlooked in considering dollar-for-dollar value of therapy include: the expertise of the therapist, the ongoing/continuing education they have taken that informs them on how to best serve clients such as yourself, and of course the time spent on each client after the session is over. This includes the continuing time spent by the therapist of taking notes, consulting or doing research.

Other professionals, such as mediators and attorneys, charge for these extra services by keeping record of all the time spent on your case and in your best interest in and out of their office and then send you a monthly bill. Therapists have a an “all inclusive” per session flat fee.

You’re worth it!
